Relax. Customized and fair rates are applied to each project individually. Each request is analyzed quickly and on a case by case basis, with no surprises for you. You will discover that a high-quality translation of a technical or general document performed by a professional translator-interpreter expert in the field and native in the target language is not necessarily unaffordable.

The cost for Translation Services is based on the total number of source words, target words and/or pages according to the translation services, and rectified by the technicality of the subject matter (if need be) and delivery turnaround (e.g. urgent delivery). The cost quote for your translation services will always be GLOBAL, you know in advance the total exact cost of your translation service before your order.

The cost for in-person Interpreting Services is calculated per hour + transport or travel fees (if need be). The first hour is always charged in full, and the successive interpreting time periods are accounted for per segments of 15 min underway.

The European EN15038 Translation Quality Standard set out key steps in the Client - Translation Services Provider relationship: Enquiry and Feasibility, Quotation, Client - Translation Services Provider Agreement, Handling of project related client information, Project conclusion.

CHP Translations meet the required European EN15038 Quality Standard on Translation Services.

Because not all clients have the same needs regarding the application of the European EN15038 standard requirements to their translation projects, CHP Translations offers two different options of professional high quality translations services: EN15038 Standard's Second Translator Review included or not.

What is the difference?

There is no inferior quality results on the general/specialized translation professional services provided without the application of the Second Translator Review's EN15038 Standard. It's application only adds a security line against eventual errors, a one more step (a second eye review) to the set process to be followed in completing all translation services. It confers you an extra protection against eventual human mistakes made on a quality assured professional translation.

General Terms and Conditions of Sale

MINIMUM RATE

A minimum rate is applied for short documents (minimum of 350 words) in order to cover operational and administrative costs.

PRICE REDUCTION BY VOLUME

Any translation project exceeding 10,000 source words is eligible to a price reduction (rate per cent or per rate applied per source word) to the final price.

EXCLUSIONS TO THE FINAL ESTIMATE

Please note that all final total estimates exclude the following services, and will be subject of a separate invoicing: [1] Author's corrections (e.g., amendments or additions to the original text requiring subsequent amendments or additions to the translation work); [2] Post-DTP proofreading; [3] Page Layout and/or Graphic Formatting Services; [4] Postage and courier fees.

CALCULATION BASED ON SOURCE WORDS

The cost is normally based on the document's total number of source words, counted by Word® or any CAT Tool word counter. In the event that the client cannot provide an electronic document, but only a hardcopy document (e.g., official and legal documents such as original certificates), the cost will be based on the number of target words.

MINIMUM RATE

The counting unit for on-site interpreting services is the number of hours used for the requested interpreting services. The very first hour – used in full or in part – of the interpreting timing session is always fully charged at a fixed rate per hour. After the first hour, you are billed only for each extra quarter of hour undertaken.

TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES

The counting unit for transportation expenses (if apply) is by km (round trip) from the interpreter office address to the requested address where the interpreting services may apply. The transportation calculation is previously calculated and informed in the estimate.

INTERPRETING TECHNIQUES

Consecutive interpreting: What the speaker says is translated after he has finished speaking. Liaison interpreting: With this technique, the speaker’s interventions are translated at regular intervals. Simultaneous interpreting: What the speaker says is translated simultaneously, mainly used for public conferences.
